A month ago, I got to thinking...
I have developed the habit of posting status updates in Facebook. I shared thoughts about going back to work after my 3-month maternity leave,
moving into our new home,
my cooking adventures,
(which started with misadventures),
and my daughter's milestones.
When Mia was 'mobile' enough to be comfortably brought outside the house, we started experimenting on new restaurants. This is what the hubby and I used to do before Mia; actually even before we tied the knot. So I started posting all those food adventures as well. I realized, more than satisfying our palates, we were delighting our hearts ♡.

Chicken for me, lamb for honey and purple ice cream for Mia.
Being together makes all these yummier! |
Friends noticed how often i updated my posts. Lea Mate (Mia's godmother) encouraged me to write a blog instead, "Why not write a blog instead of just posting on Facebook? Mas maganda pa yon." This got me thinking.
I heard the same boost from Justinn Valerio, a balikbayan friend, when we had a send-off gathering for him and his wife Denise; "Why don't you blog? Put pictures and reviews of the food you had." This got me.
Between my husband and I, he is the better writer. So when he said that he will do this blog with me, I swore to find time to create one. I thrive on collaborations with the hubby. That includes the midnight-to-dawn brainstorming cum bingeing sessions, over the top researching and bittersweet arguments, allowing us to arrive at a perfect his and her's creation. A competitive couple, we are. ☺

I was not convinced at writing only about our food adventures, but it was also unclear to me what else I should write about. Anna Oposa (ANNAlysis) asked me "What's your blog gonna be about?" When she said she never heard of a husband and wife blog, I was certain it was going to be that!
More than our food trips, we will share about enjoying life as a family. We will share how my crazy-smart-pretty little Mia has made a lot of difference in the choices we make, even if it was as simple as choosing a restaurant. We will share how we are growing as the wholly happy family, hoping to humor and inspire others.

Mia's playmate, Dora, who lives in our garage.
One of her dad's best finds ;) |
As hi-tech as the world is now, I am of the thinking that little miss Mia will get the picture of how she grew up with twenty-first century yet dyed-in-the-wool parents that we are through the web. I won't be surprised if they use Kindles and Tablets as books in school.

But at home, we want Mia to experience old school and traditions. Yes, we still believe in some of the old-fashioned ways our own parents raised us. Why shouldn't we when we like what we've become ;-p.

I guess this is it! Thank you Lea, Ju and Raisee!
THANK YOU MY HONEY! I'm sooooo excited!
