being wholly AND holy (part 2 of 2)

As a result of having so much time to plan for another day out, we all met up at Paseo de Sta. Rosa on Black Saturday.  The adults shopped around while the kids sweated it all out on the slide.

There was also this area.  Mia felt very at home on the grass.  Really, grassy landscapes is heaven to her.

Next stop was at Nuvali.  Mia was amused at the school of koi that gathered.  She was a bit apprehensive to feed the fish, but with her dad carrying her, she was convinced it was alright to do it.  Ang laki kasi ng mga koi!  At home, only small fish inhabit our pond ☺.

It was really hot that day, good thing there was shade by the grass, so Mia got to do what she loves to do best outdoors – sit on the grass and hug trees!

To rid of the hot outdoors, it was halo-halo time at Crisostomo.  We had halo-halo (which did not have much of “mga halo”), mais-con-yelo (having about 2 spoonfuls of corn kernels) and suman fondue (which was delightfully good).  The prinsesa had purple ice cream (ube flavor lang yan).
Digman halo-halo is better

Chami's mais-con-yelo is creamier

i guess anything with chocolate will always be yummy for me

if this wasn't purple, i'm guessing she won't eat it

As if I wasn’t stuffed enough, we had dinner after an hour and half at the nearby Kanin Get It!

The name sort of says it’s a copy of Kanin Club, but after looking at the menu, it seemed just like any Filipino restaurant with a diner feel.  I was immediately drawn by the kwek-kwek: boiled egg coated in orange starch served with vinegar.  It’s street food.  So seeing it in a menu makes it all the more appetizing for me.

Adel got chicken curry.  He wasn’t very pleased with it, but it wasn’t really bad.  It was fried chicken with brown gravy spiced up with curry.  It was a pleasant twist.

I was undecided what to have, Adel helped me out and got the salpicao.  Thin strips of beef with bits of roasted garlic were served on a round sizzling plate.  It was really good!

And because we always order extra, we also had sizzling sisig.  It was equally salty and spicy.  The heat of the plate gave it the crunchiness that made its texture perfect.

The yayas chose the longsilog.  By the looks of it, the longganisa had very little fat, which I prefer.  Only, this was served with coleslaw on the side - medyo off.

I was so stuffed!  I couldn’t even have yogurt anymore!

The day wasn’t about to end yet because Dad’s promise is never broken ☺.  Earlier, father and daughter made a pact that they were going to look for a telescope.  Well, just a toy telescope.  Mia realized that she can only pretend to be helping Diego (Dora’s cousin) look for animals if she has her own telescope, so there.  We used up what was left of our energy to go to all the toy stores in Festival Mall Alabang.

We really could not find a telescope anywhere.  Adel was already discreetly convincing me to go to ATC.  But Mia was such a good girl.  We just had to explain to her that we could not find a telescope that night, so instead maybe she could settle for binoculars.

She was happy once she learned how to use it.  Especially that she saw it served almost the same purpose.

On Easter Sunday, I brought home some loot bags from the egg hunt which Mia was not able to attend.  She was sleeping so soundly, I couldn’t just wake her up.  All 3 of us were tired from the day before, we weren’t even sure if we could still have our family Easter dinner.

Going back to the loot bags, Mia gave them out to our helpers.  After all, it is Easter – Pasko ng Pagkabuhay sa filipino – hence, gift-giving.

We have always taught Mia to give, the same way both Adel and I were taught by our own parents.  We tell her to share, wanting her to feel pleased by doing so.  I see that she likes doing it; almost 2nd nature to her ☺.

Easter afternoon was spent playing at the garage.  Mia chased her balls and pulled her train around.  It was a stay-cation well spent ☺.
her ball rolled under the car when she kicked at it

chuga-chuga woo-woo!
