Early this year, Adel and I decided that it was time to introduce tagalog/Filipino words to Mia. By the time she goes to the ‘big school’, she has to be able to understand commonly used tagalog words. As much as we believe that we did right by making English the 1st language she learned, we know that it is wise for her to also know her native tongue.
